PRODIS.Automation is an efficient graphical system for the creation of test and programming sequences within the scope of electrics/electronics test and vehicle configuration. The usage of ODX data and the support of OTX sequences is integral part of PRODIS.Automation.

PRODIS.Automation is optimized for the following areas of application:

  • Central provision and distribution of comprehensive test functions and sequences
  • Integrators and authors in production plants, who either create test sequences or take over test sequences and suit them to the specific needs
  • Single applications in association with test stations, e.g. test facilities for vehicle components and modules

The modular architecture (plug-in-concept) allows for using PRODIS.Automation in different system environments. In addition to an easy integration into different customer IT solutions PRODIS.Automation ensures flexible scalability and expandability.
PRODIS.Automation can be individually adapted to the customer’s needs.

The architecture of PRODIS.Automation is based on J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) and Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP).

Core element of PRODIS.Automation is the graphical editor for creation of test and programming sequences. Via drag-and-drop sequences can be created from predefined basic elements.
In a special screen editor different user interfaces can be conveniently assembled from predefined elements (named controls). The system assists the user with a WYSIWYG display and automatic scaling for different screen resolutions.

Application Features

  • Versioning and change log: All modifications at test sequence creation in PRODIS.Automation are subject to version control. At saving each modification is automatically versioned in the configuration management system. Thus a rollback to a previous version is possible at any time.
  • Release management and snapshot: At test sequence creation PRODIS.Automation does not only look at single sequences and libraries but also puts all sequences, library modules, additional files, user-defined screens etc. involved in (test) sequence creation under configuration management. So not only the individual parts but also the parts as a whole are consolidated to a release. Completed versions as well as intermediate results (snapshots) can be saved as release with added comments.
  • Full integration of configuration management system
  • Branch and merge concept: For effective support of major teams, sequences can be divided into several phases and groups (so-called branches) in PRODIS.Automation. This avoids e.g. negative influences on series statuses by further developments. Efficient collaboration in major teams is possible by merging the different branches at the end of development.
  • User and role management
  • Code generation and release process: The code of the programs for (test) sequences is generated on basis of the program and data statuses consolidated to a release. These are independent of the current development and thus are not negatively influenced by modifications of other users.
  • ODX support: Convenient browsing through diagnostic data including the possibility to group electronic control units.
